The power of prayer
An 18-year-old asks her digital pastor: “Is there any reason not to take my life now?”
Not being able to find meaning in her life, this young woman felt she was merely biding her time until death - and hoping she’d go to heaven. “Is there any reason not to take my life now?” she asked. “It would spare me all the frustration and pain. But the Bible says not to kill, and I don’t want to go to hell.”
Our digital pastor pointed her to a special 100 Huntley Street video online and eased her fear and doubt by saying: “God had a purpose for you before you were even born, and you can't fulfill that unless you are here. Life is beautiful. You have a lot to offer.”
The young woman’s response? “All I can say is ‘wow!’ Your response and the video have completely refocused my perspective, and I can see now that the world has a lot to offer and I suppose I do too. Thank you!”
