Did you know 1.8 million people live below the poverty line in Israel? That represents 1 in 5 people, many of them are the elderly, holocaust survivors or children.

It’s not something we think about in a developed country like Israel, but it is the disturbing truth. Thankfully, Crossroads Relief & Development has been working with a ministry (Leket Israel) that helps alleviate hunger through a food rescue program.

This ministry collects produce that is considered “seconds” and left over prepared foods from restaurants, hotels, cafeteria’s etc., and redistributes them to soup kitchens, homeless shelters, battered women’s shelters, and other non-profit organizations.

Over 200 of them! Each week approximately 175,000 people are receiving meals.

Please consider supporting our efforts so we can continue to bless people in Israel.
